The Kansas Department of Corrections received the following commissions on the
inmate telephone services during FY 2004 – FY 2008:
December 2003$2,750,000
December 2004$2,750,000
December 2005$2,750,000
December 2006$2,750,000
December 2007$1,057,301

During FY 2008, the inmate telephone contract expired and was re-bid. A considerate
effort was made to reduce rates to the inmate families when the contract was rebid.
